Improved PieMail Dashboard, PieSocket v4 & New Tools
Last updated on September 15th 2026
Another Tuesday, another Pie.host update!
Last week, we shipped improvements across PieMail and our developer tools, while continuing work on the next major version of PieSocket.
The biggest update is the redesigned PieMail dashboard, which gives users a clearer view of email performance and recent activity. We also added two small but useful developer tools, and PieSocket v4 is getting closer to release.
π A Redesigned PieMail Dashboard
The PieMail dashboard has been redesigned with better reporting and a clearer overview of email activity.
The new dashboard now includes a recent email activity timeline, showing events such as emails being opened, links being clicked, and contacts unsubscribing.
It also surfaces key metrics including open rate and click rate, making it easier to understand how your emails are performing without digging through individual campaigns or cadences.
For teams using PieMail for transactional or marketing emails, this provides a much faster way to answer a simple question: What is happening with my emails?
π οΈ Two New Developer Tools
We added two new tools to the Pie.host developer toolkit:
Environment Variable Generator
Environment Variable Generator
Generate environment variable files quickly when setting up or configuring an application.
Site Metadata Viewer
Inspect the metadata exposed by a website, including information useful when debugging how a site appears to browsers, crawlers, and sharing platforms.
Both tools are available directly from Pie.host tools page and are designed for quick developer workflows where you don't want to build or install another tool just to get a simple answer.
β‘ PieSocket v4 Is Coming
We're also working on PieSocket v4, the next major version of our realtime infrastructure.
One of the key changes is support for multiple rooms over a single WebSocket connection.
Today, applications with users participating in multiple rooms may need to maintain multiple connections. With v4, multiple rooms can be handled over one WebSocket connection, which can reduce the number of active connections required by applications with heavier realtime usage.
We're also making other protocol and infrastructure improvements as part of v4.
PieSocket v4 will support PieRTC for Android, iOS, Flutter, React Native and web.
PieSocket v4 is currently in development and is expected to arrive within the next month. A complete protocol and migration document will be published alongside the release.
π§ Small Improvements
Alongside the larger updates, we've continued making smaller fixes and improvements across Pie.host to keep the platform reliable and easier to use.
More details will follow as PieSocket v4 gets closer to release.
